This edition of Supper Club features Chef Emily Yuen & Owner Maiko Kyogoku of Bessou, and celebrates the exhibition Motoharu Jonouchi and Keiichi Tanaami: More Than Cinema, presented by Pioneer Works and organized by Collaborative Cataloging Japan.
Bessou, whose name loosely translates to “home away from home,” showcases unique and creative takes on traditional Japanese home cooking. Dishes are inspired by Maiko’s family recipes and honed by Emily’s culinary finesse.
Maiko and Emily became friends in 2013 while working at Boulud Sud. Emily also spent three years as Executive Sous Chef at DB Bistro in Singapore and stints at Le Gavroche in London and Vue de Monde in Australia. Maiko served as Director of Private Dining for Daniel Boulud and Project Manager to artist Takashi Murakami.
