#HealthierJC Mental Health First Aid training @ Bethune Center 2020

Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour training to prepare you to assist people you encounter who may be experiencing a mental health or substance use issue. The training teaches the most common mental health conditions, risk factors, suicide prevention, and a simple 5-step strategy to offer assistance. YOU MUST ATTEND THE ENTIRE 8HRS TO RECEIVE CERTIFICATION.

This class is for adults 18 years or older to helping other adults. There is a separate class to assist youth.

Mental Health First Aid has been taught to more than 2 million people worldwide and found to be effective at reducing mental health stigma, and in equipping people to identify issues and offer help.

Each class is limited in size to facilitate learning. If you register, please come, or if plans change, release your tickets as soon as possible, so that someone else can go.

More details are at HealthierJC MHFA FAQ.pdf.

NOTE: if you wish to register multiple people, just submit a separate registration for each participant with their name and email address. If you would like this training for a large number of people (5+), please contact the program managers at the Jersey City Dept. of Health & Human Services: Tonie Costello (tcostello@jcnj.org) and Paul Bellan-Boyer (pbellan-boyer@jcnj.org).
