Our chef,Tanaka is a skilled Japanese cook who has about 40 years of experience. He is from Hokkaido, an area located in the north of Japan, which is as cold as Rochester.He likes Unagi, Tamago, sake (drink), and Heineken. Also, he is an enthusiastic golf player. He graduated from a Japanese culinary school and worked at a restaurant in Japan.Hearing about his cooking skills, a Japanese restaurant in New York City invited him, and he worked at the restaurant as a chef for 8 years. Afterward, he contributed to the foundation of a Japanese restaurant in Rochester. After working at the restaurant for 10 years, he opened SHIKI in 2004, one of the best authentic Japanese restaurants in Rochester!
