Mohammed Rahman, the founder of Neeorb, arrived in the United States as a young man to pursue his studies at Brooklyn College. Due to financial challenges, he decided to drop out and began working at a restaurant, initially as a host and later as a delivery person. In 1987, Mohammed re-enrolled to complete his education and successfully graduated in 2001. Driven by his passion for food, Mohammed opened his own restaurant, Neeorb, in 2009 on Starling Avenue in the Bronx. Neeorb has since been serving the community with high-quality, authentic cuisine. Recently, Mohammed has become more health-conscious and concerned about the impact of consuming rich food daily. He has started experimenting with plant-based, wholesome foods, aiming to offer healthier options to his community and to those who enjoy Bengali cuisine.
