I ate the beef thukpa which was actually tasty. The side pickle add more taste on it. The really good part is my food on table was within few minute of my order. That makes my starving stomach feel good ;) :)

Stopped by here one day when I got a day off from work to spend as a lone wolf. I ordered from the Tibetan side of the menu and got the Phing Sha (beef stew) with Ting Mo (dumpling) $8 lunch special. A kind lunch for the price arrived several minutes later while I was still enjoying my Bocha (salted butter tea, everyone should order this with their Tibetan meals IMO) piping hot and quite likely made to order. The big appeal of Tibetan cuisine for me has been the home style comfort food aspect of it. I still haven't figured out whether it's *supposed* to be spicy but true to the promise of the name, the mung bean "glass noodles" with beef chunks and seaweed in flavorful broth were definitely picante and went great with the dumplings.

One of my favorite joints in the area for some good Tibetan and Japanese food. absolutely get a plate of Shapley. It's one is the best in queens. I'm also a big fan of the Emma Datse, Bhutanese potato and cheese dish with chili. The double fried pork is another one of my favorites. The dragon roll is surprisingly better than some other authentic Japanese joints I've been to. The chef here was before a five star hotel chef in India so u know ur getting a five star restaurant food for a great bargain.

Fitness freak, if you want to eat out for a weekend. Don't worry they got healthy stuff. I recommend you to order chicken/ beef grill with avocado is healthy and tasty. Tibetan salmon is one packed with protein. Enjoy ur food and stay well...

Just had the most wonderful meal! I ordered my favorite shredded potatoes with chicken and the beef ema datse with ting mo on the side. Spicy but it was absolutely delicious and still hot even though I ordered everything as take out. Will absolutely order everything again

Everyone was super nice! A member of our party uses a wheelchair and they were super helpful about that. We ordered a variety of foods (momo's, chow mein, shrimp and chicken dishes) and they were all very delicious, and as extra spicy as we requested. Also very well priced with large servings. The chef even popped out and have a few tables flattering avocado roles.

Went for dinner last night...we were the only people on a Thursday at 7pm...but I have NO IDEA WHY...the Bhutanese food was wonderful. We haven't been able to stop discussion about it and are planning on going back tomorrow. We haven't tried any of the Japanese dishes, which is all they have on the menu...you have to ask for the Bhutan dishes. We had chicken ema datse with tingmo, spareribs (different than Chinese ones), beef with french fries, and momo.

Visited again! So tasty . Tried different things...the whole left side of the menu (Tibet/Bhutan) is tasty. Tried some Japanese noodles and dumplings and they were good too!

Don't let the name fool you! Although it says "Wasabi point", it does not mean they are a Japanese restaurant. My boyfriend tried to order sushi but they were always out during their first year of business. My boyfriend was not joyful, he wanted sushi. When ever we pass by he would say how bad this place and how the name is dim because it doesn't make sense when there's no sushi. He then took notice that on their menu there was TIBETAN food, fascinated with their "spicy beef", he ordered it. May I say it was the best spicy beef dish we ever had!, the flavor were just dancing in our mouth. thick cuts of beef with peppers.

This place has some of the best Himalayan food! They have two menus that look almost the same from the inside, make sure to check out the Tibetan/Himalayan menu over the Japanese menu, because its where they really shine. They have quite a few vegetarian dishes on their menu too, which I really appreciate! Omygosh the Ema Datsi here is sooooooo good!! If you don't know what that is (I didn't until earlier this year) it is a Bhutanese dish that has a creamy cheesy broth with potatoes and chilis (similar to poblano peppers). You can order it with just potatos, veggies or a diversity of different meats. Here they served it with simple white rice.

My boyfriend and I ordered Ting-mo (steamed bun) that we dipped into the cheese broth because it was a bit dry. These were so-so. I actually enjoyed the Ema Datsi (thick cheese broth with beef and peppers) with rice. We also ordered: -- Beef momos (which are similar to beef soup dumplings) -- Chicken with potato (shoe string fries with chicken and pepper) -- extra ribs (a bit spicy, but still good)

The datse is really spicy. I think my husband and I would have liked the dish more if they offered a less spicy version of the dish. I definitely advise ordering the ting mo with the datse as dipping bread. The ting mo on its own is plain, but it is great soft; and when dipped in the broth, really tasted good...although after the second taste of the datse, I loss all my taste buds. We ordered the beef version and I loved the softness of the beef.

Ordered what the other Yelpers optional and the food did not disappoint! :) Spare ribs (appetizer): I thought they would be American-style (not sure why) but it's more like the spare ribs you get at a Chinese place. hot but not too spicy (I almost wish they were more spicy). No matter, they were tasty! Sha datse: You usually don't see cheese in Asian soups so this was interesting and, again, tasty. I liked the little kick the peppers gave the soup. I gave the leftovers to my lil and she liked it as well!

We were lured to try this place after reading one fellow yelper's review and upon knowing it's within walking distance from my apt, we determined to try it out. The place was packed when three of us came, we were seated after about 10 minutes wait. We ordered 2 sha-datse which is a chicken/beef with chili and cheese soup, 1 beef chili and 2 ting-mo , a Bhutanese bread that looks like chinese steamed bun. The food come around after 20 minutes, and it was worth the wait! The soup was mind blowing, the mixture of cheese, chili and the meat was perfect! The beef chili was tasty too,all dish come with steamed white rice. Total price was $35 for 3, the piece was good and we come out full and very glad...

Still 5 stars for this place! We had sha datsi for lunch at Himalayan Yak. We didn't feel it was enough to fulfill our crave so for dinner, we determined to go Wasabi Point for more ema datsi. The food here is absolutely delicious... very consistent... better value than Himalayan Yak... If you have a big hunger & a crave for some good Bhutanese cuisine, this is definitely the perfect place to go

We've been eating here very often ever since 2011. We have to say that there's never a bad day eating here. The food & the service are every time good. Always 5 stars from the first day we've been here back in December, 2011. outstanding Bhutanese cuisine! Definitely one of Queens best!

This place took me right back to my middle school days in Kalimpong, India. The decor, the tables and chairs, the smell and yes the food. in spite of the japanese reference in the name - this place has one of the best street style tibetan dish. Don't get me wrong - I love Japanese cuisine, the sushi roll... sashimi.. tempura but not anything beats the taste of some tibetan thukpa and momo. For my fellow yelpers, Momo is a tibetan/nepali style dumpling made from either meat or vegetables. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. Apparently, they also cater and naively I already had tasted some of their delicious cuisine at a party I attended the night before.

I came to eat here with my family. We ordered sushi, it was terrible. The eel was over cooked, the avocado was bitter, it wasn't ripe and the rice was mushy. This is just not the place to order sushi. We ordered a seaweed Salad and it was icy cold. It clearly wasn't fresh, it must have been in the refrigerator for who knows how long. I had chicken HongKong, it was rather bland. I was absolutely expect more.

The best Tibetan food in town! I love their spicy chicken, ribs and their fries! This place has a nice ambiance and a welcoming staff! I don't know why people write bad review when obviously this is one of the top Tibetan restaurants in NYC! Comes from a Tibetan person!

I've never had HImalayan/Tibetan/Bhutanese food before and Wasabi Point was a great start! Ordered beef momos, Tibetan cabbage salad, house salad, thukpa with veggies, and sha datse, with a mango lassi, of course. The mango lassi and both salads were tasty and made a good starter. I felt like the ratio of dough to beef in the momos were too much so I wasn't a fan of those, but the Thukpa (basically thick noodles and veggies in soup with choice of meat/veggie) was yummy and the sha datse (chicken with peppers in a light cheese broth) blew me away. I want to eat datse every day, soooo good! It wasn't spicy for me at all so I added some hot sauce, but it was great without too. The broth was tasty and tasted slightly similar to broccoli cheese soup, but for sure less thick and calorific.

Don't come here for Sushi or Japanese food. Only come here for Tibetan food! Now that I've said that. Their Tibetan food is attractive good. They've a wide assortment of Tibetan food and all of them are good. My favorites would be their ema datshi(although it's a Bhutanese dish), shapta with tigmo, chilli potato. The service isn't so bad and the center is okay.

Love this place. Beef momos. So good. The dry chicken chilly is so good. Hot n Sour soup you get lots of tofu & chicken if you want it. The dishes are hot so be cautious. I could eat at this place once a week.
