there are Americanized Chinese staples on the menu here (I guess you have to, to turn a profit in Forest Hills), and yes, they're all done well, but The Bund shines with more usual fare. the fact that I don't have to schlep over to Flushing for soup dumplings is clutch. The Bund is legit good, not just "Forest Hills good" (as one person I know says). portion sizes are great for the price.

This is my first time at the Bund. My background: I am an avid foodie I've ate at many 3 Michelin star restaurants and street corner, Shanghainese by origin, and have lived in Forest Hills my whole life. That being said I'll quickly give an overview of my knowledge at the Bund. Customer Service - (Excellent) the restaurant manager went as far as to go out at 2pm to purchase the crabs I wanted for dinner at 6pm. He told me that in order to maintain excellence of the crab they can't keep a large amount on hand and give customers dead crab meat. As an avid crab lover I find that extremely comforting as I hate the taste of a 3 day old dead crab. They will have my business for crabs for as long as they are willing to serve it.

The sweet and sour pork was the worst! It is advertise as having pineapple and bell peppers and all it had was just pieces of spareribs on bones and some sauce. I was very very disappointed. The egg drop soup is advertises as vegetable soup or broth with eggs and all it was was eggs and cornstarch and water there was no flavor whatsoever. UPDATE: The restaurant was gracious enough to call me and say sorry for sending me the wrong order. They then sent me the correct order at no cost.

I likely it to be one of those characteristic Chinese take out spots but it exceeded my expectations. I ordered the sesame chicken w the crispy salted chicken appetizer. The chicken was perfectly tender and the sauce wasn't too liquidy, sweet, or salty. Perfect spot for a quick lunch!

So at first I ordered take out from the bund, and was vastly let down. I assumed it was just another chinese takeout shop and ordered the standard stuff (chicken and broccoli, general tso's, etc), and it wasn't very good. I wrote it off and figured I just wouldn't order here again. A few months later, the Bund was the only place open nearby on a cold day, so I stepped in. Once I saw the eat-in menu and the kind of food that was on people's tables, I realized that this is actually an authentic shanghainese restaurant, not just a run of the mill takeout place.

almost two years after my initial review I ordered from Bund again. In order to be fair, I ordered 3 times in the last month. Each time the food arrived within the promised time window and has been time after time good. China town good! Better than when they first opened. Last night there was a slight glitch with the order and the wrong dish was delivered. However, David, the manager, handled it like a pro. He apologize and gave me an option of delivering the missing dish, warning it would take up to 45 minutes, or giving me credit. So whatever was deliver to me was taken off the bill.

Finally ate at The Bund last weekend. They have almost certainly the best Chinese food in the Forest Hills area (exclusive of Flushing of course). Their veggie dumplings and soup dumplings are both flavorful. The mapo tofu is delicious (and made without meat so it's vegetarian) and the flounder and cabbage soup was very good too. We also shared the rice balls in broth dessert which was interesting with an odd floral note to the broth. My friend wished it had some red bean in the dessert but it didn't. Great decor and I liked the paintings of the Bund street views in China. The lighting was a bit bright for evening dining - would have been nice if they dimmed the lights a little to add more ambiance.

A welcome addition to the FH neighborhood. I've dined here and ordered takeout and the food has always been time after time tasty. There were some growing pains in the first few months of opening, as with most new businesses, however they've come a long way and have decreased their wait time and increased service. The soup dumplings are legit and their pork hock was one of the more delicious ones I've had! Their crispy fried fish with pine nuts makes a lasting impression and the shrimp with tea leaves is def worth a try! The Bund offers great eats without having to trek into the overcrowded Flushing or Elmhurst!

Checked into a local hotel tonight after having several flights given up for lost due to the storm. I was tired, cold, and hungry! I at first ordered soup dumplings and bahn mi. Someone called me and said they were out of the bahn mi and would I like something else? I asked for general tso chicken instead and they offered me a free soup or soda (maybe a regular offer?). The delivery driver got here quick (even with snowmagedon happening). The food was hot and tasted great except for the hot and sour soup. The dumplings were probably made hours ago as they were a little tough with a lot of juice that explode

This restaurant is one of my go-to places to eat when I am craving Chinese cuisine. I actually enjoy the wide variety of dishes on their menu but one of my favorites is the 'Wasabi Shrimp'! The food tastes great and the atmosphere is very nice as well. It is a very family friendly restaurant and the staff are very sweet. Definitely should try this restaurant out if you're looking forward to eating a nice authentic Chinese dinner :)

This place is my new favorite beating out Shanghai 33 and Kung fu. Soup dumplings are on point, it's never crowded, wait staff are expert, and it's located directly above the rego park subway. You can't go wrong. Their cold dishes are the bomb, particularly 1 and 7. Udon noodles were also good last time I ordered. Bathrooms are always clean and prices are sensible.

The Bund was not bad as a sit in Chinese restaurant. They also had a nice "get a free soda if you spend $10" deal. The place looks immense, I'd give it that. The atmosphere was very nice but I think it should have barred the extra cultural items. So the story goes: I was looking for a Vietnamese Pho place on Queens Blvd before picking up my friend. It was cold and pho would definitely have hit the spot. So the fact that they offered pho was a serendipitous moment. unluckily, it didn't taste like authentic pho like you would get in an actual Vietnamese restaurant. By adding adding big pieces of onions and not having a well-prepared beef broth, it really tasted off.

Pretty amazing food I must say and Delivery is quick. Portion size is good to. My fave dishes. Beef w/ scallions Kung Pao chicken and pork fried rice, lions head meatballs and the salted fried chicken. The beef w/ scallions, tasty. Kung Pao was yummy but had to many peanuts for my liking. This isn't a negative just saying. Lionshead meatballs, very moist and big. The salted crispy chicken, salty and very good.

GREAT CHINESE FOOD ALERT!!! This place is a gem to this local group of people. arbitrarily was working in the area and had an early dinner here. This is what we consider REALLY REALLY good Chinese food haha. The prices are regular but the food excellence was 5 stars. The service was very quick and the dining room is very warm and inviting. Very cool spot. The staff was super nice too. The pork buns were amazing!!!!! Must Try! I ordered an order to go for my brother, they were so good, can't believe an order of 4 was only $6. And the noodles I had were very delicious too :) Check it out if you love Great Chinese food!!

Loveee this new place! We have been searching for a great sit in Chinese place and this one is ideal in every way! I love that they have a diversity of options to choose form and will change it around and substitute things to make you happy. They are a little pricier than your standard Chinese but the quality is great and everyone is soo nice! Also quick delivery! Kung pow chicken and hot shredded beef are my favs!

I first visited Bund at a Yelp Elite event in February 2017. My daughter and her boy friend were taking my wife out for a birthday dinner. When they told me they were taking her to Bund and asked me to join them I jumped at the chance. This would be my second taste of Shanghainese cuisine and I wanted to try their food at a non Yelp event. I would have given Bund 5 stars but deduct a star for our server's attitude, she acted like we were keeping her from other things. Her other failure are noted below. The restaurant was fairly busy but we had no problem getting a table for four. My daughter had ordered from Bund in the past and really like their cold noodles in sesame sauce so we started with that. It was very good with properly cooked noodles and a tasty sauce.

This place catered a 35-person meal for us. We were happy with how well David respond to our requests. truthfully, going in we were a little worried that he would be hard to work with. He argues with his reviewers a fair amount on Yelp. But in person, he was very helpful and responsive. It started when he helped us choose our dishes. We had some ideas based on the food we were used to eating, but we had never tried catering it for 35 before. He warned us away from xiao long bao, which don't survive delivery well, toward sturdier stuff like lions head meatballs. He also helped us gauge how much food to order, and offered us cheaper options to help stay within our budget.

I was traveling a bit so I am here a little late for my second review of THE BUND. I had ordered 2 times from here prior to my vacation. HANDS DOWN EXCELLENT! The pork buns and bbq type dishes, as well as Chef signature dishes is how I rate local places. I admit my previous review was a bit harsh. outstandingly prepared, seasoned and presented. Great S.E. Asian flavors and yes this is one of the few Asian restaurants in the neighborhood where you can find Authentic aromatic dishes. I advise that you try ,whatever your favorite ,and you will see.Great place to eat,and with a variety of beers on the menu also a nice place to kick back. Now that I'm back in town, I will update soon

lastly, a good Chinese restaurant in forest hills! Authentic and tasty! I Ordered delivery and was pleasantly surprised by how good the food is. The food here is comparable to places in flushing... and with delivery, I'm so impressed! The soup dumplings have a thicker dough - so they don't pop during delivery but the flavor is great and the dough is still chewy (in a good way). The scallion pancakes were also great!! Flaky and flavorful. AND!! They deliver Peking duck buns.

I was looking forward to a birthday festivity at The Bund. I wanted to test the restaurant out for some time as it is very local and had good reviews. So, my family trekked out in the freezing cold hoping it would live up to the reviews. I say it did. We started with Cold Noodles in Sesame Sauce. I can say it was the best I have ever had. It was not greasy and very flavorful. The noodles were cooked to perfection, a different kind than I am accustomed too. Definitely would have this again. We followed it up with Pork w. Shredded Vegetable and Bean Curd Soup . Wow! Silky tasty broth with sliced bean curd and slivers of pork. We all enjoyed the warmth after our walk. I really wanted to try the Soup Dumplings as I have never had that before. I must say it was a little tricky to eat but I definitely will try to ideal my style when I order this again and again.

There are certain items they do well and some they don't but it's worth trying and finding the good stuff. Things I would advise: soup dumplings (crab/pork is more flavorful than just pork but both make happy the cravings without me having to leave the house), pan fried noodles, Kung pao chicken, sesame chicken and pork fried rice (better than the typical Chinese take out spots). Things I wouldn't recommend: Their wings are good but not for take out, they get soggy in the transport. Their fried pork chop noodle soup wasn't that good.

It is all about The Bund! If I could eat Asian cuisine seven days a week, I would. unluckily, the there are a lot of not-so-great restaurants in NYC, particularly when it comes to soup dumplings and Shanghainese cuisine. That's why when we happened upon The Bund a few months ago, it was love at first bite. And, we have been going back at least once a week or so since. Yes, when we find a place we like, we become regulars, even if it means taking two trains and 20 minutes to get there, which is what we do to get here.) Now, about THE FOOD!

We had been searching for a place in Queens that has good Chinese dumplings. We lastly came across The Bund. I'm so very glad that we did. You walk in and and it's a comparatively small restaurant. We had arrived just as the lunch menu was ending. They have quite an extensive menu. A lot of it sounds weird to be honest with you but we have it a shot any who. We started off with the Wontons in a spicy chili sauce. They were so good!! They had fresh cilantro as a garnish on top which finished the flavors. Then I got the Bund pork and crab soup dumplings. They came with a sauce that was nice and tangy. The flavors of the dumplings were exceptional. The pastry was thin and just perfect.

While my Brooklyn area has an discomfiture of riches when it comes to restaurants, when I want good Chinese food I have to schlep to Chinatown. lately, dear friends from New Jersey drove in to meet my hubby and me in Queens--but not flush. Our friends had heard that the Chinese food in Forest Hills was travel-worthy. I'm happy to report my friends were right. At Bund, we feasted on: garlic cucumber, old Beijing noodles with meat sauce, wonton in red chili sauce, steamed pork dumplings, Bund special crispy pork hock, sliced lamb stir fry with cumin, and eggplant in garlic sauce. Except for the pork hock which was a bit dry, all else was delicious and totally cooked.

The center is modern, with a colorful skyline of Shanghai on one wall and ornamental lights. I ordered a pork soup dumpling and ZhaJiang Mian. The pork soup dumpling skin was a little thick, but the soup was on point. My noodles were chewy, which is good. Chewy noodles are always good in my book! The staff was welcoming and told me to take my time because they saw that I was working on my schoolwork. I didn't need WiFi, but I saw that you can get signal from the Starbucks WiFi (although it may be a little slow).
