sincerely my favorite restaurant in all Queens. This cute little local restaurant has the most wonderful Bahn Mi sandwiches and their bubble tea is next level. I love it to death

This is my preferred place in my town. Once we tried this place, my husband and I are falling love in Summer. We really oftenly order Rice noodles and Vietnamese beef and chicken sandwith almost every other days... Before we found Summer, we usually went another place which was little far a way from my house. Now we are very happy with Summer. There is a lot earlier to my house. The food is overwhelming, too. Inside of restaurant is very clean and staffs are kind. When we requested delivery, it takes usually within 15 mins. Sooo fast!!! I love that part a lot..haha. For rice noodles, you can choose spicy levels, mind, midium, and hot, and also, choose a diversity of topping menus, fish ball, ramp, beef, vegetables, etc...

fizz tea here was pretty good. When I went it was $3 for a large but then the next day I came back I think they switched to new menus so the teas went up to $3.25. My friend got a lychee tea with lychee jelly while I got thai tea with tapioca balls. We both tried each other's tea and liked them. My thai tea was a little too orange for my liking but the flavor was good and the foam were chewy and soft. As for the lychee tea it tasted like lychee tea you get anywhere since they all use the same powder but for $3 it was a pretty good deal.

Came here for first time and they fulfill my Vietnamese sandwiches outlook. Flavor and presentation was very good for the amount of dollars you paid. Guy at the register very enjoyable and help us with all our needs. I'll definitely be back.

I've had this place bookmarked for awhile and lastly had a chance to check it out for lunch. My boyfriend and I ordered the classic banh mi (added an egg), grilled pork over rice, and an order of the spring rolls. We were pleasantly surprised with both dishes, but didn't like the spring rolls. The banh mi was simple and delicious - a very classic, no frills banh mi. The bread was fresh, warm, and crispy. The grilled pork over rice was good as well. The pork had a nice char and well marinated. The portion was huge, very filling.

First visit here and their banh mi is drivable. Friend's beef sandwich not worth the $7 when my $5.35 grilled pork one seemed to have more meat. I really liked the warm and soft yet crunchy bread though. The place is no frill and seems clean while the staff is eager to please. Yet I'm not going to go out of my way when Joju is more suitable and more fun!

I had my first banh mi knowledge at ba xuyen in Brooklyn, and have been comparing every other banh mi since to that. So far all have failed - until today that is. I had had this place saved for a while...Or at least at long as it's been open, which was three weeks. Dare I say the meat may have even surpassed my first love - it was so damn tasty and I love that they cater to my bland palate by offering different spice levels. The veggies were crunchy, the bread crispy, the meat perfectly flavored. In other words, perfection. I highly recommend the taro milk tea - served hot. They have the best tapioca, and I have tried many in this city.

Someone inexplicably sent me a note "...You can order in summer..." when I didn't like the Banh Mi and Pho state of affairs in Elmhurst. I had no clue what it meant at first. My detective-ish BF figured it out. The person who sent me a note was referring to Summer, the restaurant serving Banh Mi and Chinese Soup Noodles on Grand Ave in Elmhurst...Ah hah. I do not claim to know if they are Vietnamese or not but I do suspect they are from China but I am not sure. Does it matter? I guess not to me.

brilliant sandwiches and well price. I have order out from them several times and no complaint. Fast service and great food, what more can you ask for? The interior isn't something that draws you in and make you want to stay. It's very "meh" in that regard, but I sure as heck don't go there to engage in conversation and I'm there for tasty sandwiches and I'm out the door.

In my view, it's much better than joju and it's also cheaper!! Was a little disappointed with the mango bubble tea, but still was a good knowledge overall.

I've always wanted to try Summer's sandwiches since I walk pass this place approximately everyday. Since I always go to Joju, I want to try a different style of Vietnamese sandwich and compare. By looking at the menu, the prices for the sandwiches range from $5.25 to $7.00. They have multiple vegetarian sandwiches. I ordered the grilled pork sandwich ($5.35) with mild spicy. The bread was crunchy in a squashy way. The only difficulty with the bread is that it's too crusty and the crumbs would go all over the place. The grilled pork was good, but nothing special. It's like the ordinary pork you find at BBQ. There's also pickled carrots, cucumber, cilantro, and spicy mayo.

I used to live across the street from Summer and will get a sandwich and tea about 3-4 times a week. I typically get the usual which is very affordable and tasty. It costs $5.25 and will definitely fill you up. I also like their Thai ice tea as a compliment. To this day, I still travel to Queens (even though I live in Brooklyn now) to get a sandwich.

I've been on the search to find a decent grilled pork banh mì. I've been to joju, not too far away from this place. I've had their pork banh mì, and I have to say summer takes the win by farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Lol. The completely marinated grilled pork, the toasted bread, the plentiful amount of pickeled veggies, and just the right amount of mayo and siracha to give it that kick was astonishing. When I first walked in, I was a little skeptical. It didn't really feel like a place I wanted to sit and eat, but honestly that's the point. It's a quick grab and go spot. Don't get me wrong. I've already been there about 6 times in a span of a week and a half and I've sat there with my friend and enjoyed people watching right at the seats closest to the window. I tried the spring rolls, not impressed at all, but you can tell this is not the place you grab that kind of app.

I've been here several times and each time they don't let down! Their Vietnamese sandwiches are great (I've tried the pork, the chicken, and the original) and they always come out with warm toasted bread with a great crisp and soft chew. They have the right amount of spice particularly since I always get them spicy. Their spring rolls are also tasty and a great way to start the meal. And the price was right. I paid about 11 dollars for a pork sandwich, spring rolls (5 in an order) and a soft drink. Not bad

The grilled chicken sandwich is my much loved here! Beats the classic any day. The chicken is full of taste (lemongrass is my guess) and still super moist. Portions are good although the sandwiches could be stuffed a little more. I like mine to the brim. My favorite viet sandwich shop in the area. Dare I say, better than Joju? (Not sure what the hype is all about with them)

We exposed this little hidden gem after reading an article from Eater NY. I would never have found this place otherwise as it is located on the other side of Queens Boulevard, far from the more occupied part of Elmhurst. I have to admit, I was tempted to turn around and leave when I noticed there were only 5 Yelp reviews at the time, the lack of customers inside, and the decor was basically bare bones. I'm glad we didn't though.

Happen to have passed by here on opening day to try out their Vietnamese sandwiches. Place was brand pristine new and super clean! To start, we tried out the classic sandwich and their Summer sandwich to compare out they fair with others. At $5 per sandwich, it is nicely priced and it's huge! Good to share! They also have a selection of noodle soups and a slew of bubble tea selection. Review of the sandwiches to come after I eat... After eating the sandwiches, I will retain this as four stars and here is why. Sandwiches were made well with a descent amount of meat and combo. Because the bread itself was so big, it made the filling look lacking. representation sandwich had a lot of flavor and mirror close to a Viet sandwich... I say this because the owners are really Chinese. The summer sandwich tasted more or a regular egg sandwich with meat (bacon) in the middle.

This review is based on one sandwich only... I walked in the other night factually 5 minutes before closing and they were still very helpful. The only problem was they only had 1 piece of bread left. Bad for me. Good for them because that means they were busy earlier and also means the bread next day will be fresh. I tried the typical sandwich which i thought was tasty. Also the price is cheap. So win win over all. I'm also giving this place a 4 star because they deliver! Yesssss finally a place that delivers banh mi sandwiches

Yummmmm! Been penetrating high and low for the best vietnamese sandwiches that's closer to home. My go-to place is in Chinatown, Manhattan and I'm glad to find incredible equivalent to that store. First off, the bread is amazing! It's large enough to share with 2 people and it's nice, crispy and soft. Most places have very hard bread. Instead of the typical, (which most people said were just ok), I ordered the grilled pork Banh mì. There's so much flavor to the meat and the pickled veggies! I can't wait to try some of their hot noodles dishes too. Though Joju have more variety of banh mi, I think I prefer the sandwiches here more. Joju can be a hit or miss sometimes depending on how dry their meats are.

outstanding Vietnamese sandwich (banh mi) here! I'm so glad this new business are opening on the south side of Queens Blvd Elmhurst, Queens. The north side is very crowded and parking is difficult. The parking in this area is much easier. I tried their Summer Banh Mi- obvious it is very large and great price ($5 each); comes with sliced pork, bacon & egg with all the fixings (see below). The sandwich was delicious and pickled veggies are fresh. The baguette was toasted just right. You can pick the spice level- mild, medium or hot. Rate 5/5. My kids had the Classic Banh Mi- comes with pate, Vietnamese ham roast grilled pork. Rate 5/5. All sandwiches come with mayo, butter, cucumber julienne, carrots and daikon radish and cilantro. Served on a toasted French baguette.

Ive come here a couple of time now in the past few weeks. They use good pieces of grill Viet Pork in their sandwiches as opposed to the Pork block like casserole they use at Jojus. I can see what people mean when they say that Joju's sandwiches are more dry than the sandwiches here. My friend loves the sandwiches here because the meat is well seasoned. Ive tried their noodle soups which I like as well. I had it in ramen and vermincelli which are both good. They do put various one items like two pieces of lotus roots, two fried tofus, some woodear mushroom, etc. It adds a sort of hotpot feeling which is nice. I would like it better if they serve the noodles and rice in a non thin artificial bowl... I think it would be more eco-friendly.

What's better then a Banh Mi? A Banh Mi for under $6! Wow you can't beat these prices. If you are wonder if a sandwich at that price is going to be any good stop wondering it was tasty. I am not going to say it was the best I ever had, but it was pretty solid and well worth it. I went with the classic banh mi. Everything seemed fresh and tasted great. The bread had the perfect amount of crispiness. If I lived around here I would be a usual.

New restaurant right on grand avenue very close to buses and nearby train station (M, R line). Open daily from 11-11 , and free release if you spend $8 or more. No online ordering and was not yet on grubhub ( my go to when ordering takeout) . Highlights are banh mi sandwiches, very affordable at $5 Delicious pickled vegs! Can get the sandwich mild, medium or spicy. Crusty baguette. amazing for everyone with the classic with pate/ ham or pork , as well as other option like grilled pork, chicken, tofu and the 'summer' with sliced pork, bacon, and egg, great combo!

I came here yesterday so I could try one of their sandwiches... compare them to Joju. Since we ate a light lunch I optional sharing one. L chose the Summer banh mi medium spicy. Buttered French bread with lots of pickled veggies and bacon!??? Pretty tasty. But isn't it supposed to come with a slice of pork? I don't think there was a slice of pork, just slices of bacon... in spite of it wasn't bad for $5 plus tax. I liked the veggies.. pickled a bit more than the other banh mi place.

I'm giving Summer 4 stars because it's better than the other place in Elmhurst. I tried their grilled chicken as well as the pork banh mi. It's almost certainly not authentic but it was very tasty. Both meats were very flavorful, had that nice grilled meat on the stick char.. one would think that there would be a great Vietnamese restaurant in NYC but sadly there isn't one. So yes this is Chinese owned and there is totally no ambience in the dining area but it was a pretty good sandwich for $5.25. It was filling, the bread is nice and toasty not like that other place, good amount of meat. Lots of veggies.
