History

Established in 2009.

Nick's Bistro, named after Mario's grandfather, is the culmination of three generations of inspired culinary Greek cuisine. Grandfather Nick, the person responsible for introducing the family to the restaurant industry, had two sons Charlie and Andrew. Both Charlie and Andrew owned a successful restaurant in Astoria for 35 years. It was here that Mario grew up sweeping and cleaning tables and then eventually it was the place where he learned the art of cooking. Many years of hard work and involvement in the restaurant inspired Mario to fulfill a dream of his own and open Nick's Bistro in October 2009. Andrew, Mario's uncle, is now the Head Chef of Nick's Bistro.

Andy and Charlie oversee pretty much everything customers enjoy. Their dedication is what starts each day at Nick's Bistro. Hours before the restaurant's doors open both of them are in the kitchen making the soups, sauces and daily preparations for the meals we serve our customers each day. Most of Nick's Bistro's

We came here twice, once for banquet, and once for brunch. The food is hit or miss for the price but the service was excellent! For dinner, we met with group of friends from my grad school. The area is small (seats ~24 ppl), so its best if you arrive earlier. We got complimentary toasted pita bread with humus while we were waiting for another friend to arrive. K and I ordered grilled Mediterranean octopus, Gyro platter and oversize shrimp full with crab meat. Our friends ordered the lamb shank, wild salmon, lamb kebobs, and chicken souvlaki.

My rating would have likely been five stars if not for the following: 1) We were sat and despite asking for menus twice and asking for a waiter we were ignored for 15 minutes. 2) Once we got the apparent manager's care the staff played who gets our table. 3) The acoustics are lousy so it's strange loud. 4) Orecchiette was pedestrian

What can I say, the place is awesome! Food is cooked and flavored to perfection, air is lovely and the facility is great. Real family style feeling in this place. Highly highly recommended!49,5 Such a find when visiting New York! Alfred (one of the charming owners) was right--Queens does have the best food, and Nicks Bistro has the staff to compliment it. We were really spending the day with bags before an evening flight home. The restaurant is about .7 miles from the LIRR (train) and a beautiful walk through

definitely one of my favorite formations around the forest hills areas, problem is though some of the food items are some of the best I've ever tasted, one item in specific ( that I've tried at least ) left me wondering if I came out of some kind of inner city school cafeteria of some sort.

The best thing about this meal was the charming company I had but as she's not on the menu here's our knowledge. The dessert was excellent Galaktoubrueko, definitely 5 stars for that. Perfect end to the meal cleaning our palate. The server was a charming young man who had a genuine interest in us as customers and in the food itself. He realized from our conversation that both my friend and I have a passion for food and after he knew how we enjoyed the dessert a nice surprise was to bring a piece each of baklava to try. Baklava was beautifully covered and not dipped in honey so could actually taste it

We were a family group of 18 and Nick's Bistro welcomed us w open arms. A long table was earmarked for us on the Sunday, 12:00 arrival. Service was excellent and food was served almost all at once. All meals were quite good, frequent water service and queries about our meals were asked. Excellent restaurant, service and food

Cute place with friendly customer service and astonishing food! We ordered the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer based on our servers references and it was delicious. My bf ordered the lamb chops, which came out juicy and had the perfect amount of seasoning. I ordered the black linguine, which I highly indorse if you like seafood pasta. The servers were super friendly and took the time to describe different items on the menu. Wish I could have for dessert in because the baklava looked delish. Definitely would come again

The food at this place was really terrible. I was so disgruntled. I ordered the Greek salad with chicken and my boyfriend ordered the crab cake burger. His crab cake I'm pretty sure was reheated as it was mushy and soggy. My chicken on the salad was still pink so I had to send it back and ask to cook it a while longer. Over all everything was extremely tasteless, I don't know if because I grew up eating this type of food I was expecting more but it was truly tasteless

I happened to be in the part & since I'm not familiar with the neighborhood I turned to yelp. Based on the reviews this place should have been a slam dunk but instead it was an epic miss. The wait for our food was over 30minutes after we ordered & the place was no where near full at 3:00pm in the afternoon

This restaurant beat my expectations. All of the waiters were very friendly and respectful. Also, THE FOOD WAS AMAZING. This restaurant has vegan and vegetarian options as well. I would indorse this spot to anyone

I am pleased to add an enthusiastic FIVE STARS to this unresolved restaurant. Although the restaurant was very busy, our party of four was seated immediately at our reservation time. From the start of pita with chick-peas and hummus to the perfectly seasoned main courses, all of us were very satisfied with the food. Portions were considerable and the food was fresh

My gf brought me here for my birthday. The restaurant is super cozy & has live melody which was a huge plus. The food was filling and really flavorful. It was our first time trying Greek and the waitress was actually helpful. Overall, I had a great time and would def come back

Have come here several times with my family, and this place never fails to dissatisfy! Since I have such a sweet tooth, the baklava is my FAVORITE thing ever! But the food at Nick's is truly astonishing. Their chicken souvlaki, the chicken gyro, the hummus with pita chips, the lemon potatoes...everything

I have been to this restaurant a few times with friends. It wasn't a very good Greek restaurant likened to others I've been too and the food was continuously old. Their falafel was horrible and had such a spongy texture. They get the order wrong half of the time and the service is horrible. If I could I would give this restaurant 0 stars

I rarely get food brought because I find that the quality of food is generally better when you eat in but tonight I decided to take a risk and I'm so glad I did. First of all, my food was brought within 21 minutes...And more impressively, the food was perfect. The seafood in the black linguine was fresh and a fair amount of everything. My steak (Athenian filet) was cooked to excellence, medium, and the sauce was very unique

I love Greek food, this is a good Greek restaurant. Good service, the waiter and waitress are very friendly and caring. Mediterranean octopus salad, whole grill bronzini and a sample combo were what I ordered, they are all very delicious, just the fish a little bit too dry, my guess is the fish is not fresh(frozen fish), but general is good. My husband ordered a steak, he loves it too.

I just exposed this place, and boy what a great place. The food is spectacular and the service is exceptional. Very well run restaurant I have repaid back to eat here at least a dozen times in the last month and reliably the food is great.

Went with a large party for a friend's retirement party. He had optional it. We were all overcome by the service, the friendliness and most especially, the food. Fantastic does not do this place justice. Owner was over to make sure all was well several times, their specialties lived up to that title. The to come staff was attentive and expert, the atmosphere was homey and down to earth.

Nick's bistro is a hidden gem in queens. The greek food is authentic and consistently great. We had the full salmon w/ spinach & feta and the souvlaki. Both were superb, finished every last bite. Also, the greek wines are great as well. Highly recommend this spot if you're craving greek food.

Nice small spot. Came here on Sunday evening and got a advertisement right away. It was empty at first but rapidly filled up. They gave us some pita with humus for starters and the bartender came to us and requested us what we would Ike to drink. She was very nice and gave her references.
