History

Established in 2012.

A local Forest Hills resident by way of Ireland was looking for a neighborhood wine bar around Austin Street.  A place that would have a great glass of wine or a craft beer with some small, but tasty bites.

My spouse and I came here to check out their Sunday brunch and felt a little underwhelmed with our food. I got one of the shrimp & hash brunch special and didn't find it particularly flavorful. All the ingredients were fresh though! I ordered a side of their crystalized bacon, which was delicious! The one annoying object was that it came out way after my payment. My partner liked his eggs benedict, but also didn't find it to be anything to write home about.

DON'T COME TO THIS PLACE!!!! This place fixes not house to their visitors AT ALL! My wife and I decided to try this place since of what we've read about their brunch and obvious it would be a nice outing with our 2 year old preschool.

My brunch was delightful and I had excellent service by my bartender who suggested different types of beer and Porte for me to enjoy. It was a great experience and I certainly felt at home. A Sunday a.m. relaxed feeling is hard to come by thru brunch but I felt like I could have stayed there for hours to enjoy my meal

Super yum brunch place with an unresolved vibe! It was extremely crowded on a Sunday late morning but I managed to get a seat with two of my girlfriends at the bar. Bar orchestra was a bit hectic since the servers are actively making drinks and captivating orders, but they were very sweet despite the busy feeling of the bar & kitchen area

I have lived in Forest Hills my whole life, but I have never been able to get into Jack and Nellie's. Every lonely time I tried to go in, there would be an hour wait. I think that is a evidence to the great quality food at this space. I had the egg benedict and it came with a side of hash fries. Totally worth the wait or waking up early on a Saturday

Came here last sunday for brunch with my friend Anna H. I had the eggs benedict which was cooked perfectly. My friend Anna H had the mealtime burger which she enjoyed. The waitress was very friendly and helpful

We came here for dinner, and it was a very good one. Samples made of cheeses and prosciutto paired with our wine. Good chief course. It was a good banquet. We will go back

Saturday brunch for two in a modern, quiet, casual sky in my former nabe, Forest Hills was a reunion with a good old friend and Yelper, Angel R. The hostess/waitress is welcoming and friendly to seat us. Price is sensible. No alcohol intake for either of us. Our entrees are: Cheddar Omelet with hash chocolate, wheat bread and slab of bacon

Food was astonishing. Major shoutout to Natalie who had overwhelming service and an amazing 90s/00s R&B playlist. The place is sort of small but typical for the location in Queens. Highly optional for a good brunch and air.

Parking is unconditionally horrifying! My car was booted since you need a permit to park in the area. (I've never even had a ticket before) I've never heard of this, and the cyphers were not visible. So be careful I came here for brunch, this little place gets crowded fast, and has steady foot traffic. There were only two severs, and a bartender working. Because of how packed the location is, and the limited amount of staff they have it causes the customer service to slack. The waitperson and hostess are the same person

Me - Malbec...dissatisfaction as I was pregnant something different than just a glass of red wine. Our server Natalie was sweet to make the switch for me so I can have the similar cocktail as my friend. The Mikita Royale surely tasted very refreshing with the blueberries and a slice of strawberry mmmm =)

This rarely occurs to me but Jack and Nellies managed to do the unbearable: I left the place starving. The portion sizes are not a joke. And yes, I admit that I ordered the egg white omelette which is not the most filling item on the menu but ... I had to chow down on a Martha's banana pudding a few minutes later to feel rather whole.

I never swear by a food place but i will make an barring for this one. Jack and Nellies easily stands out for their eggs benedict and hash browns/home fries. No other place came close to the quality and palate these guys offer. They serve breakfast, lunch/mealtime and dinner and drinks. One shop stop for all your needs on an empty abdominal!

I stopped by for dinner one night after the wait at 5 burros was over an hour long. The place is cute and the atmosphere is very idealistic. My friend's sister (sister-in-lav) joined us for dinner and she certainly was not into all the romantic-ness.

This is a cute little place with pretty good service. The food is good too! Try the truffle chips and the quesadillas

Great brunch! Good food & Good drinks. Not luxurious. The place is very layed back. Feels like a vacation spot in your own courtyard. The bacon is so yummy. Our server was alive and on opinion too. I'd surely come back

We were dying of hunger after a night of drinking and obvious to brunch. We perhaps thought brunch lasted all day because we arrived here at 3pm... for brunch lol. To our dismay, the kitchen was closed for the 3pm hour to prepare for their dinner menu for 4pm.. so brunch was unfortunately over. The dinner menu was very incomplete however their drink menu is huge! And they always have some type of special. We were not drinking though. The wait time for the food was sensible, not too long. The food itself was delightful. They give a dip with the quesadillas that was everything! The fries, however, was just okay. I don't think there was any extraordinary taste to them

Solid brunch with incomplete choices. I don't really understand the hype; food is solid but not very good. that said, if you want a boozy brunch, it may be your finest choice in Forest Hills. If you don't need liquor, La Boulangerie is considerably better.

I came here on a Saturday night with a group of 3 and we were seated directly. The room was a bit moist but the cold water helped. I split the chorizo mac and cheese and the burger sliders. The pasta had a nice breadcrumb crust on top and had a sufficient amount of meat. I would've liked for the breadcrumb top to be a bit crispier. The sliders were really good. You had a choice of three burgers with three options. I opted for the short rib with burnt onions. It was well stable between sweet and savory. I wish the sliders were a little bigger-- each one was about 2 tastes worth.

Little Neat meal spot that I didn't even know about it on weekends. Got there around 11:30 and there was a bit of a line, but they got us seated attractive quick maybe 20 minutes for a small place. We got the eggs Benedict and French Toast, along with fresh embraced orange juice, as well as some coffee with a french press! I have to say for a small spot and no wonder why there was a line. The residents were raving about this spot for awhile so I had to check it out!

I enjoy their brunch. While it is a limited selection, it's a good one. They also have delightful dinner selections. The vibe is nice and the staff was great. The music is on point and not too loud or annoying. Essentially it's somewhat for everyone here. I will definitely be by to try some more that's for sure

Pretty darn good. I've had some late night drinks and appetizers here after a concert at Forest Hills Stadium and the staff handled the post-show crowd with class. However, their brunch leaves a bit to be desired (very normal options with ok execution). I found the brunch seating policy to be annoying. The eatery was basically empty at 11am but they still made people wait outside until their entire party arrived on a 30-something degree day. Granted, advanced on (I would say 12pm) a huge brunch rush arrived, but I still think they must have some scope when the restaurant is empty. If I wanted to wait in line for brunch I'd take the train to Manhattan!

Been here a few times now, food is always fantastic. My favorites are the steak and eggs, and certainly the eggs Benedict. They're the best I've ever had, certainly try them out if you get a chance! The wait staff is also very welcoming and concentrating. The perfect spot for brunch.
